The fastest way to power-level in Palworld’s early game is to exploit a simple economic loop. You’ll complete a specific farmer’s quest for a huge pile of gold, use that cash to buy dozens of Pal Spheres from a merchant, and then mass-catch every low-level Pal you see to farm the massive 'first 10 catches' XP bonus. This method skips the slow resource grind and gets you to level 10 and your first major technology unlocks faster than any other strategy.
What's the Core Strategy?
The secret to rapid early-game leveling isn't fighting, it's catching. Palworld grants a significant XP bonus for the first 10 times you capture any single species of Pal. A Lamball you defeat might give you a handful of XP, but one you catch within that bonus window gives you a torrent. The primary bottleneck, therefore, isn't finding Pals—the starting islands are teeming with them—it's acquiring enough Pal Spheres to sustain a catching spree.
Crafting spheres one by one is a slow, resource-intensive chore involving Paldium Fragments, wood, and stone. The real accelerator is cash. A single, easily completed quest near the start of the game awards you enough gold to buy out a merchant's entire stock of Pal Spheres, effectively trading a few minutes of travel time for hours of grinding. This lets you focus purely on the most efficient XP-generating activity available: chain-capturing.
Your Step-by-Step Power-Leveling Route
This route requires you to ignore the usual tutorial breadcrumbs for a short while. Don't worry about building a perfect base or crafting every tool immediately. The goal is to secure your funding and your Pal Sphere supply first. Everything else comes after.
Step 1: The Initial Dash to the Coast
From your starting point on the Plateau of Beginnings, your first objective is the orange glow of the next fast travel point down the hill. Don't meander. Sprint (and slide by sprinting while crouched downhill) directly towards it. As you go, scoop up any loose Pal Spheres or Paldium Fragments you see on the ground, and be sure to pop open any chests you pass. Activate the Grassy Behemoth Hills fast travel point at the bottom. This coastal area is your gateway.
Step 2: Secure the Farmer's 'Special Dish' Quest
Once the coastal fast travel point is active, immediately warp back up to the Plateau of Beginnings. Nearby, you will find a friendly NPC, a farmer who will offer you a sub-mission. Accept his quest. It's a simple fetch-style quest that directs you to the Small Settlement. Pin this quest from your menu to make it your active marker. The reward is a huge injection of gold, which is the entire key to this strategy.
Step 3: The Journey to the Small Settlement
Now, travel towards the quest marker. The most efficient path is to follow the beach. This route is not only direct but also littered with more chests and resource nodes, including the Paldium you'll need later. Keep an eye out for a natural wind jump boost partway along the path; it will launch you up the cliffside, putting you right next to your destination.

Upon arriving, the first thing you should do is activate the Small Settlement's fast travel point. This creates a vital link for the next step. Talk to the quest NPC in the settlement to advance the objective.
Step 4: Cash In and Buy Out the Merchant
Here’s where the loop closes. With the quest objective updated, open your map and fast travel directly back to the farmer at the Grassy Behemoth Hills. Speak with him to complete the quest and receive your gold reward—a hefty sum of around 2,500 coins.
Don't hesitate. Immediately fast travel back to the Small Settlement. Find the Wandering Merchant in the red coat and spend almost all your newfound wealth on Pal Spheres. You should be able to afford 60, 70, or even 80 of them. This is your fuel for the XP rocket.
Time to Catch 'Em All (Literally)
With a backpack full of spheres, it's time to go on a catching frenzy. Return to the starting areas and begin systematically capturing every Pal you encounter. Your targets are the common, low-level species: Lamball, Chikipi, and Cattiva. The goal is to catch 10 of each.
You can track your progress by aiming at a Pal; the UI will display your bonus status (e.g., 'Capture Bonus Remaining: 7/10'). Each catch within this bonus period will send your XP bar flying. Weaken the Pals with a few punches or with your own Pal's attacks, but be careful not to knock them out. Once their health is low, throw a sphere for a high chance of success. Capturing a Cattiva is particularly useful, as its Partner Skill increases your maximum carrying capacity.

What to Do After Hitting Level 7
Your catching spree should get you to level 7 very quickly. This is a critical threshold where you can begin to automate your resource pipeline, freeing you up for more important tasks. As you level up, spend your Technology Points to unlock the Monitoring Stand, Logging Site, and Stone Pit.
Return to your base and construct these new buildings. The Logging Site and Stone Pit generate wood and stone indefinitely, but they require Pals with the appropriate Work Suitability to function. The Monitoring Stand is the key to management; build one, and you can use it to assign specific Pals to specific jobs. Assign a Pal with Lumbering to the Logging Site and one with Mining (like a Cattiva) to the Stone Pit. They will now work automatically, gathering resources and depositing them into nearby chests, ensuring you have a steady supply without having to lift an axe or pickaxe yourself.

The Payoff
By following this gold-rush strategy, you front-load the most tedious part of the early game. Instead of slowly chipping away at levels while manually gathering resources, you achieve a massive burst of XP that unlocks crucial base automation technologies. You'll enter the mid-game at level 10 with a self-sufficient base, a deep roster of Pals, and the freedom to start exploring the wider world and tackling your first alpha Pals and dungeons.
