Your first major objective in Big Walk is to open the large gate that requires a multi-groove key. To get that key, you first need to find and collect four stone heads. Each head is a reward for solving a distinct cooperative puzzle scattered around the starting island. These challenges are designed to test your group's communication and coordination, requiring at least two players, and in some cases, all four.

This guide breaks down the solution to each of the four head puzzles, giving you a clear path to forging your first key and unlocking the next stage of your journey.

Where Are the Four Heads Located?

The four heads are not hidden, but they are locked away. You'll find them attached to contraptions in plain sight, often near the central area where the key is forged. Each device has a clear interactive element—a button, a set of symbols, or a pedestal—that signals the start of a puzzle. While you can tackle them in any order, they generally fall into four categories: a stacking challenge, a symbol-matching code, a synchronized button press, and a timed relay.

Once you collect a head, you must carry it back to the central hub area. There you'll find four pedestals surrounding a key-making machine. Place a head on each pedestal. When all four are in place, the machine will activate and grant you the first key, its grooves cut and ready for the first major locked door.

Puzzle 1: The Human Tower

One of the most straightforward yet physically demanding puzzles requires you to reach a button placed high up on a wall, far out of a single player's jumping range. This is a pure test of teamwork and balance.

How to Solve the Stacking Puzzle

  1. Gather Your Team: You will need all four players for this puzzle to work reliably. Head to the structure with the high-up red button and the head locked in a nearby clamp.
  2. Form a Tower: Have one player stand directly beneath the button. A second player should then climb onto their shoulders. The third player climbs on top of the second, and the fourth player climbs to the very top of the stack.
  3. The Jump: The player at the base of the tower needs to position the stack directly under the switch. Once aligned, all players should try to jump simultaneously. The momentum from the players below will give the top player just enough height to slap the button as they jump.
  4. Catch the Head: Hitting the button releases the head from its clamp. It will fall to the ground below. Have a designated player ready to grab it as soon as it lands. Be careful—it can bounce unpredictably!

Puzzle 2: The Symbol Passcode

Near the coast, you'll discover a large, door-like contraption with a head held in a vise. This is a communication puzzle where one player becomes the eyes and the other becomes the hands.

How to Solve the Symbol Puzzle

  1. Assign Roles: One player needs to stand by the large wheel or lever that closes the door. The other player (or players) should gather the loose symbol-orbs scattered on the ground nearby.
  2. Reveal the Code: The player at the door needs to close it. When shut, a sequence of symbols will illuminate on its surface—for example, a 'bulb with an X on it'. These symbols are the code.
  3. Describe and Find: The 'code-reader' must describe the first symbol to the other player. The 'orb-handler' then finds the matching symbol-orb from the pile on the ground.
  4. Socket the Orb: The orb-handler throws the correct orb to the code-reader, who sockets it into the corresponding slot on the machine. The process repeats for the entire sequence of symbols shown on the door.
  5. Claim Your Prize: Once all correct symbol-orbs are slotted in the right order, the vise will open, releasing the second head for you to collect.

Puzzle 3: The Synchronized Buttons

This puzzle involves a set of four yellow buttons spread out around a small structure. At first, they appear to do nothing when pressed individually. The trick is that they must all be activated at nearly the same time.

How to Solve the Button Puzzle

  1. Reset the Board: First, ensure all four buttons are in their 'off' state. If a button is lit up or pressed in, you need to interact with it again to reset it. All four must be off before you begin.
  2. Assign Positions: With two players, this is a race. With four, it's much easier. Assign one player to each of the four buttons.
  3. Coordinate the Press: Use a countdown. On 'go', all players must press their assigned button simultaneously. The window for this is tight, so clear communication is key.
  4. A Head Appears: If successful, you'll be greeted with a shower of confetti and the third head will be released from its housing. If it fails, reset the buttons and try the countdown again.

Puzzle 4: The Maze Timer Relay

For the final head, you'll find a small maze-like structure with a timer, several windows, and a pedestal on the far side. This is a frantic relay race against the clock.

How to Solve the Maze Relay

  1. Position Your Runners: This puzzle requires at least two, preferably three, players. One player stands at the start to activate the timer. The other players position themselves along the maze's path, near the small cutout windows that connect the corridors.
  2. Start the Clock: The first player picks up the timer, which immediately begins ticking down. They cannot make it to the end on their own.
  3. Pass the Baton: The player with the timer must run to the first window and pass it through to the next player waiting in the adjacent corridor. That player then sprints to the next hand-off point.
  4. The Final Stretch: The last player receives the timer and must run to place it on the pedestal at the end of the maze before it expires.
  5. Collect the Final Head: Placing the timer on the pedestal in time will unlock the fourth and final head. Now you have everything you need.

What's Next?

With all four heads in your possession, return to the central key-making machine. Place each head on one of the four surrounding pedestals. This powers up the device, forging the multi-groove key. Take this key to the large, sealed door marked with a corresponding keyhole. Using it will carve new grooves into the key and open the path forward, leading you to a map room that reveals the true scale of the world and the journey ahead.
