This is the only Arms of God tier list you'll need for the current meta. After hundreds of hours testing every divine weapon against endgame bosses and the Crimson Gauntlet, we've ranked them all from the pantheon-level S-Tier to the disappointing D-Tier. The short answer is that Cinderheart (Greataxe) and Whisperwind (Twinblades) are the undisputed S-Tier kings, offering unparalleled damage and versatility for Strength and Dexterity builds, respectively.
This ranking prioritizes a weapon's performance in the game's most demanding content, particularly the final bosses like the Abyssal Herald and the repeatable endgame boss rush. We evaluated each Arm based on its raw damage output, move set flexibility, the power of its unique Aspect, and its overall efficiency in both crowd control and single-target encounters.
How We Rank the Arms
Ranking the divine weapons is more than just looking at base damage. A true evaluation requires a holistic view of how each Arm performs in the hands of a skilled Bearer. Our criteria are weighted to reflect what matters most when you're facing down the horrors of the late game.
- S-Tier: Meta-defining weapons. These Arms are incredibly powerful, versatile, and form the backbone of the most effective builds in the game. They have few, if any, weaknesses.
- A-Tier: Excellent weapons that are just shy of the top. They might be slightly more situational than S-Tier Arms or have one minor drawback, but they can easily carry you through all content.
- B-Tier: Solid, reliable choices. These weapons are perfectly viable and often shine in specific situations or builds, but they are generally outclassed by the higher tiers.
- C-Tier: Niche weapons. These Arms require a very specific build and playstyle to be effective. In most scenarios, they will feel underpowered.
- D-Tier: Weapons to avoid. These Arms are fundamentally flawed, underpowered, or so situational that they are not worth investing precious Divine Echoes into.
Our testing grounds included repeated runs against Malachi, the Corrupted Warden, and full clears of The Ashen Spire to test performance against varied enemy types. The final verdict is based on a combination of optimal damage-per-second (DPS), poise-breaking potential, and the strategic value of the weapon's Aspect.
S-Tier: The Divine Pantheon
These are the best of the best. If you acquire one of these Arms, you should strongly consider building your entire character around it. They trivialize much of the game's content and are the top choice for any serious Bearer.
Cinderheart (Greataxe)
Found by defeating Ignis, the First Flame, deep within the Molten Core, Cinderheart is the undisputed champion for Strength and Faith builds. Its base damage is immense, and its heavy attacks can stagger even the most formidable bosses. What truly pushes it into S-Tier is its Aspect, Worldfire Cleave. This ability unleashes a devastating wave of fire that travels along the ground, dealing massive area-of-effect damage and leaving a trail of burning embers. It's perfect for clearing rooms and chunking boss health from a safe distance. With an S-scaling in Strength and B-scaling in Faith once fully upgraded, its damage potential is simply unmatched for heavy weapon users.
Whisperwind (Twinblades)
For the nimble Bearer, Whisperwind is a whirlwind of death. Acquired by completing the hidden "Silent Hunt" questline in the Shadowfen Glade, these twinblades are a masterclass in speed and status effects. They boast a rapid attack chain that quickly builds up the Bleed effect, causing huge bursts of damage. Its Aspect, Gale Dance, makes the player momentarily invincible while unleashing a flurry of slashes, allowing you to dodge through attacks while simultaneously punishing your foe. Whisperwind is the premier choice for Dexterity and Arcane builds, offering incredible mobility and sustained DPS that can melt bosses who are susceptible to bleed.

A-Tier: Demi-God Contenders
A-Tier Arms are incredibly powerful and can be the centerpiece of a successful endgame build. They fall just short of S-Tier due to a slightly more specialized role or a minor drawback that requires more player skill to overcome.
Tidecaller (Trident)
This trident, found in the Sunken City of Olen, is a fantastic weapon for crowd control and applying the Frostbite status effect. Its sweeping heavy attacks can hit multiple enemies, and its Aspect, Maelstrom, creates a swirling vortex that pulls in smaller foes and deals continuous damage. It's a top-tier choice for clearing dense areas and provides great utility against aggressive enemies. Its primary weakness is a slightly lower single-target damage output compared to the S-Tier options, but its utility more than makes up for it in most encounters.
Starfall (Greatbow)
Starfall is the ultimate sniper weapon. It has the highest single-target damage potential of any ranged weapon in the game, capable of felling powerful enemies from extreme distances. Its Aspect, Celestial Arrow, fires a homing projectile that splits into three upon impact, making it surprisingly effective against larger or slower-moving bosses. The downside is its slow draw speed and reliance on headshots for maximum damage, making it a high-skill-ceiling weapon that is less forgiving than its melee counterparts. It's a must-have for any dedicated archer build.
Oathkeeper (Greatshield & Spear)
The pinnacle of defensive play. This weapon set combines a sturdy greatshield with a powerful spear, allowing you to block nearly any attack while poking safely from behind your shield. The Aegis Wall Aspect temporarily makes your shield indestructible and reflects a portion of incoming damage. While its offensive capabilities are lower than other A-tier weapons, its survivability is second to none. It turns boss fights like the relentless Twin Fates, Elara and Lysander, into a manageable war of attrition.
B-Tier: Solid and Situational
These weapons are far from bad; they're reliable and can perform very well. However, they are often outshined by the tiers above them or require a more specific scenario to truly excel.

Earthshatter (Warhammer)
If you love breaking an enemy's stance, Earthshatter is for you. This massive warhammer deals incredible poise damage, making it easy to stagger bosses and open them up for critical hits. It's particularly effective against heavily armored foes like the Stone Titans of Gora. Its Aspect, Sundering Slam, is a slow but powerful overhead smash that can instantly break the guard of most enemies. Its primary drawback is its agonizingly slow swing speed, which leaves you vulnerable if you mistime your attacks.
Soul-Eater (Scythe)
A high-risk, high-reward weapon that heals the wielder for a percentage of the damage dealt. The Soul-Eater's sweeping attacks are great for hitting multiple enemies, and its lifesteal can provide crucial sustain during long fights. Its Aspect, Reaping, unleashes a wide-arc slash that significantly increases the health restored for a short period. The risk comes from its relatively low defensive stats and a move set that encourages aggressive, close-quarters combat, which can be deadly if you're not careful.
C-Tier: Niche and Needing Buffs
C-Tier Arms are difficult to recommend for a general playthrough. They can work, but they demand a highly specialized build and a deep understanding of their mechanics to overcome their inherent flaws.
- Chime of Whispers (Sacred Chime): As a pure casting tool for Faith incantations, it excels. As a weapon, it's terrible. Its melee attack is weak, and it offers no real offensive Aspect. In co-op play, a dedicated healer might find a use for it, but for a solo Bearer, it's a liability. It's a tool, not a primary Arm.
- Voidfang (Dagger): This dagger's entire identity is built around its ability to apply a unique, stacking poison. The problem is that the poison's damage-over-time is too slow to be effective against most bosses, who are often either resistant or so aggressive that you don't have time to apply the full stack. It can be fun for a stealth-focused build in regular levels, but it hits a wall in the endgame.

D-Tier: Avoid for Now
There is currently no compelling reason to use this weapon beyond the first hour of the game. It is outclassed in every way by other, easily obtainable Arms.
The Broken Vow (Straight Sword)
Every Bearer starts their journey with The Broken Vow, and it should be replaced as soon as possible. Its damage is poor, its reach is short, and its Aspect, Minor Rally, provides a tiny, temporary damage buff that is barely noticeable. While it serves as a decent tutorial weapon, investing any Divine Echoes into it is a waste of resources. Leave it in your storage and never look back.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best early-game Arm in Arms of God? The Earthshatter warhammer can be found relatively early in the Stonefang Quarry and is a fantastic choice for the first half of the game. Its high poise damage is extremely effective against early-game bosses and elite enemies, teaching you the importance of staggering.
Can you upgrade D-Tier Arms to be viable? Technically, you can upgrade any Arm to its maximum level. However, even a fully upgraded Broken Vow will have significantly lower base damage and weaker stat scaling than a B-Tier or A-Tier weapon. The resource cost is not worth the minimal return.
Is the Tidecaller good for PvP? Yes, the Tidecaller is considered very strong in PvP. Its wide, sweeping attacks are difficult to dodge, and its Maelstrom Aspect is excellent for controlling space and punishing players who try to heal.
How does the Arcane stat affect weapons? The Arcane (ARC) stat governs the damage of weapons that have elemental or status properties, such as the Bleed on Whisperwind or the Poison on Voidfang. For weapons with ARC scaling, leveling this stat directly increases the buildup rate and damage of these effects.
The Final Word
While this tier list reflects the current meta, remember that player skill and build synergy are paramount. A master player with a B-Tier weapon can still outperform an average player with an S-Tier one. However, if you're looking to optimize your build for the toughest challenges Arms of God has to offer, focusing on Cinderheart or Whisperwind will give you a significant advantage. The divine pantheon has its favorites, and for now, these two reign supreme.
