This guide contains the complete checklist for all unlocks in Chiggas: Survival of the Mitiest, covering the 8 playable characters, 48 total weapons and evolutions, 5 main stages with their challenge modes, and dozens of secret relics. If you want to achieve 100% completion and see everything the game has to offer, this is your definitive resource.

The majority of content is unlocked via the Genetic Sequencer in the main hub, where you spend Mite Cores earned from defeating bosses and completing in-game achievements. Other unlocks are tied to specific feats of survival or discovering secrets within the biomes themselves.

How the Unlock System Works

Unlike other survival games where unlocks are purely based on achievements, Survival of the Mitiest uses a two-pronged system that rewards both progression and exploration.

  1. The Genetic Sequencer: This is your primary unlock tree. Every achievement you earn—from surviving 10 minutes to defeating a new boss—grants you a corresponding item in the Sequencer to purchase with Mite Cores. Mite Cores are the shimmering, dark currency dropped by bosses and elite enemies. Unlocking an item in the Sequencer adds it to the potential pool of items you can find during a run.
  2. Feat-Based Unlocks: These are tied to specific in-game actions that are not listed in the achievements menu. For example, evolving a specific weapon for the first time might unlock a new character, or surviving for 30 minutes on a stage unlocks its Hyper Mode. These are the unlocks that most players miss.

Our advice is to focus on the Genetic Sequencer first. Prioritize purchasing new weapons and passive items, as this expands your strategic options and makes feat-based unlocks easier to achieve organically.

All Playable Chigga Characters

There are 8 total playable Chiggas, each with a unique starting weapon and a powerful passive ability that defines their playstyle. Six are unlocked through standard progression, while two are considered secret characters requiring obscure methods.

Every Weapon and Its Evolution

Weapon evolutions are the key to scaling your power for late-game survival. To evolve a weapon, you must get the base weapon to Level 8 and possess its corresponding passive item (at any level). Once both conditions are met, the next treasure chest you open (typically from a boss or mini-boss) will contain the evolved form.

There are 24 base weapons and 24 evolutions. Unlocking a new weapon in the Genetic Sequencer simply adds it to the level-up pool. Here are some of the most powerful and common evolution paths you should aim for in your runs.

Unlocking All Stages and Game Modes

Progression in Survival of the Mitiest is tied to conquering its five distinct biomes. Each new stage introduces deadlier enemies, unique environmental hazards, and a powerful final boss that guards the path forward.

The 5 Main Biomes

  • Stage 1: The Damp Cavern
    • Unlock Condition: Available by default.
    • Boss: The Broodmother (a giant, stationary mite that spawns waves of smaller mites).
  • Stage 2: Fungal Forest
    • Unlock Condition: Survive for 15 minutes in The Damp Cavern.
    • Boss: The Myconid Tyrant (a massive mushroom creature that fills the screen with toxic spores).
  • Stage 3: Crystalline Depths
    • Unlock Condition: Reach player Level 50 in the Fungal Forest.
    • Boss: The Crystal Titan (a slow but heavily armored golem that shatters into smaller forms).
  • Stage 4: Magma Vents
    • Unlock Condition: Defeat the boss of the Crystalline Depths for the first time.
    • Boss: The Molten Leviathan (a serpent-like creature that swims through the walls and breathes fire).
  • Stage 5: The Hive Core
    • Unlock Condition: Collect the three hidden Hive Keys. One key drops from a secret mini-boss in the Fungal Forest, Crystalline Depths, and Magma Vents respectively. These mini-bosses only spawn after the 25-minute mark.
    • Boss: The Mite Queen (the true final boss of a standard run).

Bonus Game Modes

Each stage has three additional modes you can unlock to increase the challenge and rewards.

  • Hyper Mode: Unlocked by defeating the stage's main boss for the first time. In Hyper Mode, player and enemy movement speed is increased by 25%, and you gain a +50% bonus to Biomass (XP) collection.
  • Inverse Mode: Unlocked by surviving 30 minutes in a stage's Hyper Mode. In Inverse Mode, the stage is flipped horizontally, enemies have +200% health, and you gain a +100% bonus to Mite Core drops.
  • Endless Mode: Unlocked by defeating the Mite Queen in The Hive Core. This mode can be applied to any stage, removing the 30-minute time limit and causing enemies to grow infinitely stronger over time. It's the ultimate test of a powerful build.

Secrets and Hidden Content

Beyond the standard progression path lies a layer of secrets designed for the most dedicated players. These are the unlocks that separate a casual survivor from a true Mite-slaying master.

How to Unlock "The Glitch"

The Glitch is a secret character that requires a very specific sequence of actions to unlock. It is a high-risk, high-reward glass cannon that can produce some of the most powerful builds in the game, but its constant health drain makes it incredibly difficult to play.

  1. Obtain the Relic "Corrupted Core": First, you must purchase the "Corrupted Core" from the Genetic Sequencer. It becomes available after unlocking Inverse Mode for any stage. This passive item increases your Curse stat by 100% in exchange for more XP gain.
  2. Enter the Crystalline Depths: Start a run on the Crystalline Depths (any mode) with any character.
  3. Find the Glitched Crystal: You must find and equip the Corrupted Core during your run. After the 10-minute mark, a unique, flickering purple crystal will spawn somewhere on the map. It looks different from the normal environment.
  4. Die on the Crystal: You must die while standing directly on top of this glitched crystal. When your run ends, instead of the usual results screen, you'll see a flash of static and The Glitch will be permanently added to your character roster.

The True Final Boss

While the Mite Queen is the final boss of Stage 5, she is not the game's ultimate challenge. By manipulating the Curse stat (increased by items like the Corrupted Core and by unlocking Inverse Mode), you can summon a much deadlier foe.

If you enter The Hive Core with a Curse stat of over 500%, the Mite Queen will be replaced by The Aberration. This secret boss has vastly more health, entirely new attack patterns, and is the only source for the rarest set of Relics in the Genetic Sequencer. Defeating it is the final achievement for 100% completion.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I unlock Hyper Mode for a stage? You must defeat that stage's main boss, which appears at the 30-minute mark of a normal run. Once you defeat it once, Hyper Mode for that stage is permanently unlocked.

What is the fastest way to farm Mite Cores? The best method is to run Stage 2, the Fungal Forest, on Hyper Mode. The increased enemy density and speed, combined with the +50% Biomass gain (which translates to faster level-ups and more boss chests), makes it highly efficient. Max out the Greed stat with Relics for even better results.

Is The Glitch the best character in the game? It has the highest potential damage output due to its massive +50% global stat boost, but its constant health drain makes it a true expert-level character. For most players, a character like Volt or Corpus with a strong evolution build is more consistent for clearing content.

What are the three Hive Keys for? The three Hive Keys are items dropped by hidden mini-bosses in Stages 2, 3, and 4. You need to collect all three to unlock the final stage, The Hive Core. The mini-bosses only appear after the 25-minute mark, so you need a strong build to survive long enough to find them.
